He’s gone into a mosque in Haifa taking the message of Jesus to Muslims.
He’s spent hours in Tel Aviv preaching to Jews in Israel that Jesus is the true savior.
Now, continuing to share the message of “The Rabbi Who Found Messiah,” Zev Porat went to the Western Wall just prior to Passover and used Carl Gallups’ recent book to share with an Orthodox Jew the salvation of Jesus.
All in the shadow of one of the most sacred sites in all of Judaism.
Porat, who works with the Messiah of Israel Ministries to tell Jews about the Messiah Jesus, has been using the stunning revelations of “The Rabbi” as an evangelism tool.
He was captivated by Gallups’ story of Israel’s most venerated spiritual leader, Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri, who died at the age of 108 in 2006 and left behind a letter (with instructions to open it one year after his death) proclaiming the name of the Messiah was Yehoshua – the formal name for Yeshua, or Jesus in Greek. Porat said he then received a revelation from the Holy Spirit that he was to minister to non-Christians and help lead them to salvation.
Just prior to Passover, Porat was using Gallups’ book to evangelize to Jews near the Western Wall, when he came upon an Orthodox young man named Shem who asked if the book is about Passover.
Zev said, “It is about Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri who found the Messiah, and yes, it is about Passover because the Messiah is our Passover lamb.”
Shem knew about Kaduri and was studying teachings from various rabbis, but hadnot seen the book.
Explaining the book was not written by Yitzhak Kaduri but showed Rabbi Kaduri had revealed the name of Messiah, Shem said Porat was fascinated to know about Rabbi Kaduri’s note.
Upon reading parts of “The Rabbi Who Found Messiah,” Shem learned about Rabbi Kaduri and the note he left revealing the name of the Messiah right in the center of the Western Wall. After reading the note over and over, Shem’s reaction was: “How can this be?” Zev explained how the media shut down the story.
Zev then studied the Word of God with Shem, including Isaiah 53, Micah 5, Psalm 2, and many other Bible messages. Zev also explained that Rabbi Kaduri found the Messiah to be Yeshua, Shem heard the full Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah.
Porat said, “After many hours studying and praying, the Holy Spirit came upon Shem. He repented and he accepted Yeshua as his personal Savior right in the Kotel. Hallelujah!”
Shem told Zev, “I am so excited and feel different. This is the best Passover gift.”
Gallups was pleased by the news.
“Zev is now doing something I cannot do,” said Gallups. “He is going into the synagogues, the streets of Jerusalem and the Old City, and now into the arena of the Wailing Wall and taking the gospel of Jesus – using my materials and the Tanach (Old Testament). This is amazing! The apostle Paul spoke of how one will plant, the other will water, and the other will reap the harvest. I praise God to be able to have a small part in this Jewish ingathering of, what I am convinced, is the last days.
“Who knows? It may have been over 2,000 years since an orthodox Jew has been born again while hearing the gospel while praying at the Wailing Wall! It may have been since New Testament times since this has happened. All I know is – it is happening now!”
Spending hours in Tel Aviv preaching, Porat has used Carl Gallups’ recently published book as the message to bring Jesus (Yeshua) and ultimately salvation to dozens of ethnic Jews in the Holy Land.
“Though not all of those Jews who come to Christ are willing to have their picture or video taken, the book and documentary ‘The Rabbi Who Found Messiah’ is a powerful tool in helping them find salvation in Yeshua,” said Porat.
But going to the Western Wall to bring the word of Jesus to Jews was a much more trying mission.
Gallups said, “Zev wrote me a few days before going to the Wailing Wall and asked me to cover him prayer for this journey. He was convinced that the Holy Spirit had led him to do this. He was convinced that someone at the Wailing Wall would be saved if he could only get the Kaduri revelation that Jesus was Messiah – to the Wall. I prayed for him. I enlisted the prayers of many others. I am certain Zev had people all over the world praying for him in this endeavor. Zev was faithful to the call and the Lord was faithful to His promise. Now a young orthodox Jewish man named Shem is born again and a believer in Yeshua! This truly is New Testament anointing and end-times prophecy coming alive before our eyes.
“Zev has great patience. He will often spend several hours with someone who shows interest in hearing the gospel. These are people that Zev has never met before. He just goes up to them and asks them if they have ever heard of Yitzhak Kaduri. Almost everyone in Israel has heard of him. Zev asks them if they are aware that Kaduri named Jesus as the Messiah. This revelation often shocks the Jews of Israel. The media so effectively covered up the story that few have heard of this revelation. If the person wants to know more, Zev spends as much time as they need…showing them the Kaduri book and the scriptures. He has led many to the Lord in this manner of witnessing. He truly is an amazing evangelist for the Kingdom of God.”
Kaduri was, without doubt, the most venerated rabbi in Israel, and an estimated 250,000 marched in his funeral procession.
But when Kaduri’s much-anticipated letter announcing the name of the Messiah he claimed to have encountered was unsealed a year after his death, the Israeli press and world media that found him so quotable in life ignored it.
Now a book and documentary, “The Rabbi Who Found Messiah,” about his life, death and the secrets he took to the grave, tells the whole mysterious story for the first time.
The book is written by former policeman turned pastor, Gallups, who previously wrote “Magic Man in the Sky,” a popular Christian apologetics work.
Gallups turned back to his detective skills in “The Rabbi Who Found Messiah” to unravel a mystery of why Yitzhak Kaduri, so celebrated in life, has become the forgotten rabbi in Israel.
Even Kaduri’s own family claimed the rabbi’s handwritten letter naming the Messiah was a forgery. Others in Jewish circles suggested he had simply lost touch with reality due to old age.
But Christians like Gallups believe he was not the first rabbi or Jewish leader to find his Messiah in the man from Galilee. All of Jesus’ early disciples and apostles were Jews – including Rabbi Shaul, known as the Apostle Paul, the self-proclaimed “Pharisee of the Pharisees,” who persecuted those who followed Yeshua as the Messiah.
Gallups found Porat’s video compelling, precisely because of the continued media blackout in Israel surrounding the death note of Kaduri.
“I thought it was also very telling, in the beginning of the video, to hear the first Hebrew gentleman express his consternation that the media had apparently kept this story from his people, the Jews. He was dismayed that there had been no television or radio reports concerning the Kaduri revelation,” said Gallups.
“He said, ‘If this story is true, then they are taking us away from salvation!’ This was also a reason that I felt so compelled to write this book and to tell this story. I knew that if God anointed it and used it that it would reopen this amazing account for the whole world to hear. When WND Films and producer George Escobar transformed the central message of the book into a documentary movie it further expanded the reach of the story,” Gallups said.
